Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before using the DownMigo media extraction utility.
1. Permitted Use and Utility Scope
DownMigo provides a browser-based utility that enables visitors to look up and download public media posted on supported platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube) for personal, offline viewing. You agree to access and use this service solely for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms of Use and applicable local, national, and international laws.
2. User Authorization, Copyright, and Content Ownership
You are solely responsible for verifying that you own the media you submit or have secured all necessary permissions, licenses, or authorizations from the copyright owner prior to downloading, saving, or distributing any content. DownMigo does not claim ownership, copyright, or licensing privileges over any media processed through the application.
The fact that a video or Reel is publicly accessible on a social platform does not in itself grant legal authorization to download, store, reproduce, republish, or commercialize that work. While personal offline viewing is a common use case, personal use is not a blanket authorization or universal copyright exemption. You remain responsible for complying with the terms of service of the respective platform hosting the source media.
You agree not to use DownMigo to infringe upon the intellectual property, copyright, trademark, privacy, or proprietary rights of any individual, creator, or entity.
3. Supported Content Scope and Access Boundaries
DownMigo operates strictly on supported public media formats across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You agree not to submit URLs outside supported platforms or unsupported content formats (such as private accounts, follower-restricted posts, closed group videos, temporary Stories, photo slideshow carousels, or non-video web pages).
The service does not bypass authentication, encryption, password protections, closed group permissions, private account restrictions, or Digital Rights Management (DRM).
If a source video has been deleted, marked private, restricted by age or region gates, or removed by the platform or uploader, DownMigo cannot retrieve or process the media.
4. Technical Media Delivery, Quality, and Expiration
DownMigo provides media extraction under the following technical conditions:
- Source-Dependent Formats: Available resolutions, formats, and audio availability reflect the actual source streams provided by the hosting platform at the time of extraction. We do not upscale video files, synthesize missing detail, create artificial audio for muted posts, or remove platform watermarks.
- Temporary Links and Storage Expiration: Generated download tickets are temporary and expire after a limited duration (typically 5 minutes). In addition, temporary files assembled during YouTube stream preparation are automatically removed from server storage shortly after transfer completion or upon ticket expiration. Expired links cannot be resumed and must be re-extracted.
- Maintenance and Service Pauses: DownMigo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. Because third-party platforms frequently update their architectures, delivery formats, and CDN parameters, we do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime or universal compatibility. DownMigo may pause extractions globally or on a per-platform basis for maintenance, security, or updates.
5. Prohibited Misuse
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Submitting malicious payloads, exploit scripts, or automated scraping scripts to the API.
- Flooding the service with excessive automated requests that interfere with server stability or attempt to evade rate limits.
- Attempting to probe, scan, or breach system security measures, access controls, or network boundaries.
- Submitting passwords, private session cookies, or personal account credentials through the contact form or any input field.
- Using the service to distribute malware, spam, or abusive material.
6. Advertising and Third-Party Links
DownMigo may display advertisements or sponsored links provided by third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdSense when advertising is activated):
- Distinct Third-Party Content: Advertisements, including any promotional download buttons, banners, or external links within ad units, belong entirely to their respective third-party advertisers. They are distinct and separate from DownMigo's media extraction and download controls.
- No Required Interaction: DownMigo does not require you to click advertisements, complete promotional offers, or install software to access the media download utility.
- External Websites: DownMigo does not control or endorse the content, products, or privacy practices of third-party advertisers or external websites linked from the service. You interact with third-party websites at your own discretion.
- Regulatory Consent Frameworks: Where live advertising is activated, third-party partners operate under regional legal and technical requirements (including Google-certified CMP requirements integrating with IAB Europe TCF v2.3 for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, as well as separate state privacy regulations in the United States). DownMigo's live advertising consent management integration remains pending, and updating these terms does not implement a consent framework or guarantee regulatory compliance.
7. Third-Party Platform Independence
DownMigo is an independent software tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, operated by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc., Facebook, Instagram, ByteDance Ltd., TikTok, Google LLC, YouTube, or any of their parent, subsidiary, or affiliate companies.
All platform names, product names, registered trademarks, service marks, and logos referenced on this website are the property of their respective trademark holders. Their mention on DownMigo serves exclusively for nominative, descriptive identification of supported public web links.
8. Related Policies and Contact Information
These Terms of Use should be reviewed together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, which establish the complete terms governing your use of DownMigo.
If you have questions regarding these Terms of Use, need technical assistance, or wish to report an issue, please contact us through our Contact page.
